FAQ

Plugin questions. Common answers.

When should I choose a plugin over a full integration?

When you want to be live the same day with no engineering build. Install, paste your API keys, choose your payment methods, and go live. Pick a plugin when your platform is WooCommerce, Magento or OpenCart and a drop-in beats a bespoke build.

Who maintains the plugins?

Updates ship from the Acquired engineering team — not a third-party reseller. Security patches and scheme-mandated changes land in the plugin first.

Can I move off a plugin to the API later?

Yes. The plugins use the same underlying Acquired API as our full-API integrations. If you outgrow them, move off later — no data migration required.

Do I still need PCI compliance?

All three plugins keep you at SAQ-A — Acquired handles and stores the sensitive card data on your behalf. Acquired itself is a PCI DSS Level 1 Service Provider.

How do refunds work?

Refunds are processed through the Acquired Hub on all three plugins; Magento and OpenCart also expose refunds in the platform back-office. Note: the WooCommerce v2 plugin cannot refund transactions taken on the legacy v1 plugin — those are managed in the Hub.
